Fetish festival flooded with protests

UK - EDINBURGH - The first Scottish Festival of Erotic Arts to be held across multiple venues in Edinburgh in June meets a flood of protesters claiming the event is "degrading".
Organisers of
the event, have admitted that some of the people taking part in the festival will be degraded, but claims that some people actually "get off" on degradation.
The event is to include a sado-masochist dungeon and a workshop on bondage for beginners.
The three-day festival is set to attract thousands of fetish enthusiasts to Edinburgh, and promote a positive sexual environment.
Officials in the city however, oppose the event, claiming that it will put of families from coming to the capital and denounce the name of Edinburgh in it's neighbouring cities.
The city’s Tory leader,
Councillor Jeremy Balfour said: “These things can sound innocent but you have to be careful about the people it attracts and the consequences, particularly with regard to how women are treated at these events."
The
Church of Scotland, has opposed the event and raised concerns over the advertising of the event, and hopes the organisers will "avoid unsuitable and salacious advertising that may be seen by children or vulnerable adults."
